On April 3rd, members from several different generations of Kentland firemen gathered together to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department. On February 3rd, 1951, 10 neighbors met at the kitchen table in the home of Bob Baeschlin to address the need for fire protection in the growing community. Throughout the past 75 years, the Department has continued to hold on to the standards that were set by those before us and make it what it is today. This huge milestone in the Department’s history was also celebrated yesterday with Councilwoman Shayla Adams-Stafford recognizing The Kentland Volunteer Fire Department with a Proclamation in front of our county officials.
