The ribs weren’t the only thing smoking when 3rd Battalion units went to the 4100 block of Southern Ave for the downgraded assignment. Truck 33 was clearing another box alarm and was added as the 2nd due truck when Batt 3 upgraded the run to a full box. While two members worked to open up the roof, the rest of the crew tackled roll up doors on Side A before heading to the rear. There they found a series of heavily fortified exterior doors, and forced them with a combination of hand tools and saws before completing primary searches in the basement.
