As dinner was being prepared yesterday evening, a box alarm was sounded in Co. 39’s area. #Truck33 was dispatched 2 minutes later as an extra special service on Box 39-02 to the 12400 block of Starlight Ln. Units arrived on scene with an attached garage fire extending into the main structure, a 2-story Cape Cod. Truck 33 went to the roof to begin ventilating the structure on the Alpha side.
Due to solar panels on the Charlie side limiting ventilation , members cut a hole on the Bravo side to access the void behind the knee walls. Command ordered a “tactical retreat” because of limited progress on Division 2. Truck 33 was reassigned to Division 2, and acquired a handline to extinguish the fire. Truck 33 remained on scene for about 2 hours before returning to Landover Rd.
