Kentland offers our condolences to our friends at FESCO and the Laake family following the passing of Pete Laake, Sr. earlier this week. Pete’s father, Walter, started FESCO in Landover back in 1953, two years after the founding of the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department. Kentland bought 12 consecutive Seagrave apparatus, from 1953 until 1989, from the Laake family. In 2008, when the Department returned to Seagrave apparatus, Pete Sr. was instrumental in helping us order Engine 331, our Seagrave Commander II, which still serves the greater Landover area thanks to his help.
